One of our dental technicians will escort you to a treatment room seat you in a dental chair and point out the devices and features of the room. He or she will ask you if you are currently experiencing any pain or dental problems, then place a lead apron over your body and take a full set of diagnostic x-rays. When the x-rays are ready, Dr. Goldberg will review them with you on the digital screen next to the chair. He will tell you what he sees and discuss your dental history along with any problems or concerns you may have.
Dr. Goldberg
will then begin a clinical examination, during which he will physically examine and make notes about the condition of each of your teeth and any dental work already present. He will take intraoral digital pictures of your mouth for comparison over time, and he may use the Soprolight system or other technologies described elsewhere on this web site to detect cavities that might be missed by the naked eye.
Next, Dr. Goldberg
will perform a soft tissue evaluation and cancer screening. He will examine your tongue, the roof of your mouth, and the soft palate at the floor of your mouth, looking for any discoloration, swelling, tumors, or other abnormalities.
