ABOUT – OUR TECHNOLOGY
DIGITAL X-RAY
Our digital x-ray system sends x-ray images to a digital imaging program. Within this imaging program, there are tools that allow the dentist to view the teeth and surrounding structures with amazing accuracy. As an additional benefit to the patient, digital x-rays also generate 80% less radiation than a standard x-ray.
PAIN-FREE DENTISTRY
Dental procedures
are often uncomfortable, but you should never experience excessive pain during any procedure. Dr. Goldberg
offers a wide array of products and techniques
to alleviate pain. Anytime a patient indicates that they are experiencing pain or anxiety, Dr. Goldberg uses the appropriate methods to reduce or eliminate it. First, he uses topical anesthetics to numb the area where injections will take place. Then, local anesthetics such as lidocaine or other similar products are injected to deaden nerves in the area where a procedure will take place. If necessary or desired by the patient, nitrous oxide, and/or oral sedation such as Valium or Ativan can be administered. Finally, if a patient desires full general anesthesia, Dr. Goldberg consults with an anesthetist, who administers the anesthesia and monitors the patient throughout the procedure. Distracting music and television are available to patients in all of our comfortable treatment rooms.
INTRAORAL CAMERA
Intraoral cameras are amazing diagnostic tools that allow the dentist to clearly view areas of the mouth that were inaccessible just a few years ago. High-resolution pictures are displayed on a monitor that allows the dentist to spot problem areas before they become more serious.
In addition, the patient can see the images for themselves and better understand their diagnosis and procedure. Digital images also provide excellent evidence to gain procedure acceptance from your insurance company.
BIOLASE
Lasers are an amazing new technology for the dental office. New uses for dental lasers are being developed every day.
Today, we use lasers in our office to:
- Perform gum surgery without needles, bleeding, or stitches, and allow the patient to eat, drink, and talk right after surgery with no discomfort.
- Fill teeth without the need for needles, and allow the patient to eat, drink, and talk right after surgery with no discomfort.
- Remove decay from small fillings and replace them with the natural color of your tooth.
- Perform dentistry without the need for a drill!
- Sterilize your restoration and gum tissue as it is healing.
ROTARY ENDODONTICS
Rotary Endodontics uses a specially-designed electrical hand-piece to perform root canals. This tool makes the root canal process easier and faster than was previously possible.
ELECTRIC HANDPIECES
There are two types of dental hand-pieces – air-driven and electric. Electric hand-pieces are much stronger, more accurate, and more controllable than air-driven tools, since electric motors drive the tools directly, rather than air driving them indirectly. The doctor can therefore remove decay at a faster pace, reducing the time it takes to complete a procedure.
VITA EASYSHADE®
Dr. Goldberg uses the VITA Easyshade® to determine the precise shade to use when matching implants, crowns, veneers, and other cosmetic denvitatal devices to your natural teeth. It also supports tooth bleaching by digitally documenting the current and planned tooth shades.
The VITA Easyshade gives the dentist complete shade control, from the determination of tooth shade to the final restoration. The VITA Easyshade saves time and money by verifying fabricated restorations as early as after initial firing and provides tips on possible optimization measures for achieving the target tooth shade. VITA Assist software allows Dr. Goldberg to combine Easyshade data with a patient photo for better communication between dentist, patient, and lab technicians
